We are on the hunt for a passionate and collaborative Blockchain Engineer to join our client’s team and  aid in the development and enhancement of a layer 2 solution Stacks Blockchain that allows for high throughput and reduced latency. You'll team up with a diverse group and also have the opportunity to take charge; independently design and introduce feature enhancements and upgrades.

Your primary responsibility will be developing essential features for their expansive developer community. We're looking for someone who thrives in varied development settings and has independently contributed to rapidly growing startups. Experience in open-source projects is a bonus, as their project is open source.

What You'll Do:

• Play a key role in the creation, upkeep, and testing of Subnets and blockchain.
• Subnets is undergoing active development with its primary version operational on Testnet. Your duties will encompass designing novel features, augmenting the system's reliability and performance, and ensuring that Subnets remains a dependable, secure, and efficient backbone for the entire Stacks network.
• Employ cutting-edge cryptographic algorithms and theories to advance the upcoming version of Subnets.
• Instill strict monitoring and testing strategies to fulfill security and performance standards.
• Develop and introduce tools and utilities supporting the blockchain, such as CLI clients, tools for blockchain exploration, monitoring, benchmarking, and debugging instruments.
• Engage with various teams to brainstorm and implement new product attributes that rely on the Stacks blockchain like developer tools, UX instruments, and third-party integrations.

Idea Candidate Qualifications:

• Possession of a Master's degree in Computer Science, a related technical discipline, or substantial practical exposure.
• A track record of 5-10 years in software engineering, inclusive of product development and launching experiences.
• 3-5 years of firsthand exposure in a production setting involving one or more of the following: public blockchains; consensus protocols; expansive distributed networks; high availability and real-time systems; applied cryptography; compilers; or other analogous technologies.
• A knack for research.
• Prior involvement in the design and execution of tests for long-haul projects.
• Proficiency in Rust.
• A solid grounding in Cryptography.
• A background in Blockchain is a prerequisite.

Additional Qualification:

• Experience in testing distributed networks against behaviors under faults, network divisions, and network delays.
• A profound understanding of the challenges and intricacies of peer-to-peer systems.
• Familiarity with programming language interpreters, compilers, and static analysis.
• A history of developing highly secure software and launching new products.
